Helping Hand Advocacy offers support in these key areas...

SPECIAL EDUCATION ELIGIBILITY: We
know navigating the special education system can be overwhelming, especially if you’re just starting out. Our team can assist you with initiating the assessment and support you throughout the entire process.

COMPREHENSIVE RECORDS REVIEW: We understand that reviewing records can be challenging,

and the amount of documentation may feel overwhelming.

To make this process easier, we organize the records in a clear, straightforward way, which will help you gain a better understanding of your child's strengths and needs.

UNDERSTANDING PRESENT LEVELS AND GOALS: Parent Input is just as important as assessments when determining present levels of performance. Our team will ensure your input is documented throughout the IEP process so specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals can be created.

MEETING SUPPORT: IEP meetings, manifestation determination meetings, SART and SARB meetings can be challenging. Our team can attend these meetings with you and support your involvement the decision-making process.

IEP DEVELOPMENT: Creating an IEP involves a collaborative approach. This includes assessing student needs, setting goals, and determining the necessary services and supports. Our team works alongside parents and educators so each IEP is tailored to help students make meaningful progress based on their unique circumstances.

PARENTAL INPUT: Parents know their child best, making them vital members of the IEP team. However, parents may not always agree with the final IEP document. If that happens we can assist in crafting a parent input letter to document your concerns and address any perceived inaccuracies.

ONGOING SUPPORT: The IEP is a living document that may need revisions throughout the school year. If your child is not meeting their goals or has mastered them, we can schedule and attend additional IEPs to make necessary adjustments to present levels and goals.
